Our Mission
To provide services to pet owners in a safe and caring environment for their pet and to deliver the highest level of humane treatment to each pet entrusted to our care. We also aim to educate clients on the best services for their specific pet.
Going Green
At Shadows Pet Services we are trying to be as environmentally green as possible. Not only do we care about you and your pets but about the world we live in too. Our mobile grooming salon is equipped with a solar panel to help us keep the amount of gas used by generator low. It also features a quiet diesel commercial generator engine to keep noise pollution to a minimum. We will be using natural shampoos and conditioners which are all bio degradable. Most of our forms will be filed electronically, receipts e-mailed, vaccination information e-mailed to us. We are currently working with Four Points by Sheraton Manhattan SoHo Village which donated their gently used towels to our company. All this in the effort to reduce our carbon foot print.
Our Founder and CEO
Amanda Santiago is a pet stylist with years of experience and is the founder of Shadows Pet Services established 2014. She started in the grooming industry in 2005 as an assistant pet stylist for a corporate pet store at the same time working on her degree at Fashion Institute of Technology for photography. After receiving her degree in photography she decided to stay working with the animals she loves. She went on to grooming school in 2007 were she became a certified pet stylist. After a few more years she went back to continue her training and became a certified cat stylist. In 2013 she became a member of the National Cat Groomers Institute of America. She has certification of completion of Salon Safety Course. Amanda is a mother of two children that has always wanted to own her own company where she could work hard, take care of her children and make her own schedule. She has her own pet Cocker Spaniel named Shadow for 14 years now and has been his groomer for all his life. Grooming her customers' dogs, some that have been with her over five years, has given her the courage to open her own company which she has named after her own beloved pet.
